Day of Action

Day of Action brings together hundreds of volunteers across York County for the single largest volunteer project of the year!

Every year at  Day of Action we see volunteers who have been given the day off from work, make meaningful connections with nonprofit agencies accross York County. There are different types of projects from which to choose -  from painting, to landscaping and helping organize office space, to reading with kids and engaging with the elderly.  Day of Action is a perfect time to give back and build strong community connections.

If you are a nonprofit organization and have a special need, please reach out to us and we will try our best to make it happen!

About United Way Day of Action

Each year, United Way of York County joins with hundreds of other United Ways around the world to mobilize citizens in service to their local communities.  As one of the largest volunteer events in York County, Day of Action offers over 700 volunteers the ability to engage with local agencies in various acts of service.  These volunteers come in the form of individuals, students, senior citizens and workplace employees from more than 70 companies, and participate in a wide range of projects—anything from painting or gardening, reading to children or serving the senior population.
