Our Story

United Way of York County is on a mission to assist working households in our community to achieve financial stability. One in three York County families stand in a gap of making too much to qualify for typical social assistance, yet too little to reliably cover monthly bills and unforeseen emergencies.

With this need in mind, United Way of York County implemented an infant scholarship program that supports York County families in making high-quality early learning more affordable. No other program of this kind exists in York County!

YOU can help address a prominent barrier in the lives of working families: the high cost of infant childcare. It's the most expensive line item in any parent’s budget, and safe and affordable childcare directly helps people maintain steady employment.

This Spring we were able to award infant scholarships to several York County families. But many more need support. Will you help them?

Please give today to United Way of York County's infant scholarship fund. You can help parents get to work!
