Avoiding Homelessness

Thank you for your gift to United Way of York County! My name is Linda and without your help, I would have become homeless. 

I was evicted from my apartment when the building was foreclosed on, and I was sleeping on a friend’s couch. I tried to get emergency rent assistance, but I didn’t qualify. I made too much money to get government assistance but not enough to cover unexpected situations like this.

Thanks to you, I was able to apply for a Homeless Assistance Program funded by the York County Impact Fund. The Helpline Specialist was able to help me fill out the application over the phone. It was such a relief to get help so quickly. 

Because you give, our neighbors and friends are receiving the supports they need to achieve financial stability. Thank you for helping to create a thriving York County.
