People holding hands together.

United for Equity is a quarterly DEI training designed to promote the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across our community. Through quarterly lunch-and-learn sessions, participants will have the opportunity to explore racial, economic, and systemic inequities. Our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to create a more informed, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone.

Overview of the Series:

  • Format: The sessions are designed as "Lunch and Learn" events, making it convenient for community members and organizations to participate within a manageable timeframe while encouraging ongoing education.
  • Purpose: The series focuses on equipping attendees with practical skills and insights to support equity within both personal and professional spaces. Key objectives include raising awareness of DEI concepts, addressing biases, and fostering inclusive practices that can be applied across various sectors of the community.
  • Topics: Each session in the series covers specific topics related to DEI, with a focus on actionable steps and community-relevant issues. Topics may range from unconscious bias, cultural competency, and inclusive communication to addressing systemic inequalities.
  • Audience: The series is designed for community members, local organizations, leaders, and stakeholders in York County who are committed to creating an equitable environment for all.
